Reporting bugs
You can submit a report to the Bug Tracking System.
Alternatively, you can submit a report via electronic mail to bug-grub@gnu.org, but we strongly recommend that you use the Bug Tracking System, because e-mail can be passed over easily.
Known Bugs
General
JFS support does not work on big filesystems. (MarcoGerards)
- Tab completion does not take BSD type partitions and blocklists in consideration.
Large files do not work on ext2, this can be tested with loopback and a hd image. (MarcoGerards)
Some filesystems have regressions, only ext2 has been tested a lot... (MarcoGerards)
- Filesystems are limited to 2TiB.
- The menu entry editor does not support some keys.
Precision formatting in grub_printf doesn't work (e.g. "%.8s").
There are some bugs related to the detection of Bison(yacc). (MarcoGerards)
PC
- The PC partition map seems not to work with BSD disklabels any longer.
- Sun disklabels also aren't working.
- The VBE support does not implement the windowed frame buffer mode.
- The vesafb terminal does not implement setcolor.
PPC
- Correct border display around the menu. (9 Nov 2005: Dennis Clarke looking at this)
- When loading linux after it has been loaded already, GRUB crashes.
- Loading Linux is slow because reads should be in blocks.
- Arrow keys don't work on the console.
- getcharwidth is not implemented for ofconsole.
ls -l (hd,1)/ (where "(hd,1)" is HFS) gives this error: "method <seek> not found; ihandle=0 phandle=0" (B&W G3 Mac)
Sparc64
- ls loops forever
ls makes OF throw errors ("Can't read disk label" & "Can't open disk label package")
